The official decree, in effect as of Sept. 6, no longer states a restriction for travelers coming in from UK, Brazil and India. It only states a restriction for non-resident foreigners and flights coming from South Africa, valid until November 30, 2021.
Chile has postponed opening its land borders with Peru due to the current Omicron variant situation. Transit between Peru and Colombia and Bolivia was approved at the end of October.
To enter Peru you must wear 2 masks: a cloth mask + surgical. Two masks are also required in establishments with crowds (tourist sites, restaurants, stores, public transportation, etc.). Faceshields are not required.
For layovers less than 16hrs, and you stay in the airport’s international zone, you don’t need to do anything extra, only what your final destination requires. If you are staying over 16hrs you need to pass through customs and follow all the requirements mentioned above.
Taxi services are available at the airport. In the national zone of the airport you will see taxi kiosks inside. There are also taxi service cars waiting outside, both national and international that you can hail. There are other taxi services around the city that you can call and book, this is one option: Mr. Taxi Peru. Uber is also an option.
